Any Help On This < Gerbils? Best Answer Wins 10 Points!?

i have 2 gerbils. they have a wheel in their cage and seem happy enough just a question. how often should i handle them?

how long should i play with them?



i just lost a rat and have 1 left which is lonely so i spend most of my time with that but i also have a beagle so the gerbils sometimes are a bit ignored any help?

umm well since they are nocturnal i tend to play with them for 30min-hour around 7 or 8 so its not so early..and they arent tired in the night bec they do play alot at night and get exercise but when you play with them just hold them and maybe put them in a plastic ball and let them roll around the house[:
I handle my hamster at least a hour a day, so i would do the same for your gerbils.. More attention=happier gerbil



Also about the rat.... Maybe you should look in the animal shelter for one near the same age as yours or use http://www.petfinder.com ....

Cuz Im sure your rat is getting verryy lonely....



the gerbils have eachother so they shouldnt get too ignored... =] They should be fine..

If they have a friend they won't get lonely. If your looking to make them more tame, handle them for about 20 minutes each a day.

dont wake them up at like lunch time and try to pick them up because that just annoys them when they are trying to sleep...but when they are sleeping play with your doggy then when they are awake play with them:)
well my gerbils died yesterday, and im getting 3 new ones 2morrow. i handle mine for about 15min. and put them in a ball for about 15-30 min. this makes them happy. don't hold them to much because they will get squirmy
