Security in Airports? Travelling with a Toddler......?

Hi I am travelling in July with my daughter to Tunisia with her dad and her grandparents. To keep her amused (3hr flight + 2rs transfer) I have comprised a carry-on luggage set for her. I have included all things to keep her amused and happy.

I have purchased a Dora Backpack on wheels, Inside is

1. My little pony with comb

2. Beech Barbie

3. Travel 9in1 Electric Game batteries

4. Mini Doodle Bear with Pen

5. Mini Colouring Book with Crayons

6. Mini Magna Doodle

7. Fifi and friends light tracer batteries

8. Kids sticker/Activity Book

9. Noddy mini Toy

10. VideoNow Console with Dora Game+Wiggle Game batteries

11. Mini Love heart sweets

12. Mini Jelly Bean sweets

13. Mini Mashmellows

14. Crisps

15. 2 Lolipops for sucking during take-off and land.

Any more ideas? Does this sound ok?

Now Can anyone think for ANY reason why any of these items MAY NOT be allowed as handluggage on First Choice Planes? Dont want to get to the gate to find I have to throw new toys awaySecurity in Airports? Travelling with a Toddler......?
I travel from Tunisia to the US and back every year with my kids (2.5 hour flight to Germany, then a 10 hour flight to the US - total from door to door is 24 hours). I have been doing this since they were 2 months old. They are now 7 and 5.

The toys you are bringing are fine, and should keep her well entertained, and no, they won't be confiscated.

As for the snacks though, I don't suggest all the sweets because she could get a belly ache or throw up. It is far better to pack fruit snacks (the ones that come in individual packs), Gerber makes dry (kinda like chips, but they are really easy to chew for youngsters) fruit and veggie wheel snacks (you can find them in the baby section -they're for toddlers, but even my husband and I love them!), you can bring lunchables as long as you take out the drink, pack a few instant hot cereal, instant rice, and other just-add-water packets. The stewards/stewadess' will provide you with hot or cold water upon request.

At the very least she could eat the fruit and dessert provided by the airline.

This isn't such a long flight and while you wait in the airport for your layover you can walk around and look in the shops to help pass the time, amuse her, and give her some exercise.

One piece of advice: make sure you make her drink or suck on a pacifier, or something that makes her swallow during take off and landing to relieve the pressure in her ears so she doesn't feel pain and so she doesn't cry.

If I can be of any other help or assistance to you, feel free to contact me. Also if you need info about a certain place in Tunisia (sites to see, things to do), I'd be more than happy to help you.Security in Airports? Travelling with a Toddler......?
u do not need all those sweets!

the lollipops yep, great idea 4 take off %26amp; landing.

but there's 2 much suger 4 one lil girl.

buy some fresh fruit on the way 2 the airport (or the day b4 )%26amp; give her that instead.

i'm not aware that they go thru kids baggage.

they should understand a child needs 2 b occupied on a long journey.

u all have a lovely time %26amp; don't 4get the sunscreen.

Looks %26amp; sounds like you have got it sussed!! she should be well happy with her travel pack. However you may have a problem with the electric game %26amp; batteries. Some airlines dont allow you to have these switched on during the flight as they "interfear" with their electrical systems! Hope all goes well %26amp; have a good holiday.

Yes, because if she eats all of that she will be SICK, and you may have a problem with the Video game, check before you go, or at least when you check your baggage or you could have it confiscated.
