How can i make sure my bettas are happy and they dont get bored?

i have a 10 gallon tank with 2 male bettas in. (has a divider in). ive read fish get bored seeing the same things everyday, not sure how true that is though. i have recently changed some of the decorations in the tank. each side has some live plants, jerry has a sort of pirate ship wheel and a god of the sea statue, pheonix has a barrel that has lots of holes in that he can swim through.



jerry will sometimes flare at pheonix, but pheonix always ignores jerry and never flares at him. the tank has a heater and a filterHow can i make sure my bettas are happy and they dont get bored?

Just switch around their decorations every now and then, like you did. Add in new stuff, take out old stuff... If you have the time and the will you can try training them to swim through loops or whatever. Personally I've never had the patience to carry this through with my betta but I've heard of other people doing it. Or you can try training them to eat from your hands. Or even just try feeding them something new.

I often move things around inside of the tank to keep mine entertained. Adding new things into the tank is good for that too.



Even putting new things around the outside of their tank will interest them! And like someone else mentioned, since you've got a divided tank, you could even switch sides every week or two.





One more thing.... ping-pong balls. Seriously. All of my Betta love pushing ping-pong balls around the surface of the water.

i will put a mirror next to my tank. its funny watching them get puffed up at their reflections and gives them something to do.
