They are eating solid food and drinking water so they are able to take care of themselves but they still feed on their mother.
I know they are meant to me taken away from their mum at 6 weeks can u leave them for any longer %26gt;?.It's hard though they all look so happy where they are and I don't want to disturb them.
What can I do to keep them happy but give them what they want as well as that ?
Please do not leave any stupid comments its not funny .. =)Hamster experts needed !?
What type of hamster are they? If they're Syrian, as they grow up they will naturally start to fight each other and this will be fatal. They will kill any cage mates (even brothers and sisters).
You should probably separate them. This would be what naturally happens in the wild so I wouldn't worry too much about them missing their mum. Also if their still feeding off their mother, this is a HUGE drain on her resources. She will keep producing milk until they stop feeding from her which will be draining her energy and stopping her from using that energy to look after herself.
Once you've separated them you will need to sex them. Hamsters become fertile at 6-10 weeks, so the males need to be separated from the females asap!!!Hamster experts needed !?
Well, as long as both the mum and babies are happy and healthy seperated, they really are better off that way. it isn't healthy for baby hamsters to feed that long. Also, no offence to hamsters, I have one and really like her, but their brains aree so small after 1 or 2 nights they will forget their is even anohter hamster living on Earth.
Hope this helped!!%26lt;3Hamster experts needed !?
Hamsters generally fight as they get older, normally for dominance. They should be separated.
If you leave them for longer you risk fights and pregnancy.
Hamsters are solitary creatures, and usually lose patience with parents and siblings right around puberty...which is right now!
So, they'll start fighting among themselves and the boys will start trying to get their mother and sisters pregnant. While that's not as horrible as it is in people - you don't want to send the babies off to new homes pregnant. The new owners won't appreciate that at all. It'll be harder to find homes for injured hamsters too.
Separate them from mom and from each other.
One cage - one hamster - that's the rule.
Some people say Campbells (aka Dwarf) hamsters are more social and can live in groups. That has never been the case for me. Mine have always fought...but rules still apply. You don't want the females pregnant, and you don't want the boys fighting.
