How can i tell if my new hamster is happy in his new home?

He has a really nice cage. theres 2 cages connected with tubes and he has two wheels and a big house thing and lots of wood chips and realy good food. But sumtimes i dont think hes very happy. well idk.|||if he refuses to eat, or just lies around doing nothing, he must not be happy. but it sounds like youre doing great! just dont forget to feed him regularly, and play with him, and be gentle, and all the other things every pet owner should do!|||EATS, POOPS, SLEEPS, AND TRY PLAYING WITH HIM DAILY.|||he is happy if he doesn't to bite the walls of his home and likes to run around and play around with everything|||Hamsters aren't happy creatures. As long as he's eating a normal amount and active at night, he's fine.|||Are hamsters ever really happy? They're mean little critters. But I'd figure anything you have to offer beats the half of a toilet paper roll that they had to be crammed into in transit to the pet store.|||If he runs in his wheel.|||Just to give yourself a piece of mind, get your hamster a companion. It's been said/proven, 2 is better than 1, at times. Nobody likes to be alone. Not to say you're not good company; but..... You know what's up. Although, if you do not want many more= GET SAME SEX BUDDY.|||Yeah, that's true. Small animals like hamsters, gerbils and rats are happier in same-sex pairs or groups than alone.

I have 5 rats, haha.
