For number 9 I went with my favorite Simon and Garfunkel tune. A great case could have been made for America here which I consider to be one of the most beautifully written tunes ever, but I love this song with it's snappy humour and it's great spring in its step. Here you go, hope you like it.
Simon and Garfunkel - The Big Bright Green Pleasure Machine
So, what did you think? What's your favorite S%26amp;G tune?
Thanks a lot everybody. Hope your week is off to a great start. I'm a little burried at the moment so I may not be able to chime in, but I'm certainly reading. Take care.|||Hey Prof,
I hate to sound cliche, but I grew up listening to 50s and 60s music. For whatever reason, I never cared much for Simon %26amp; Garfunkel. The tune was ok, but didn't really tickle me all that much. I will say that when I was in high school, my English teacher played "Sound of Silence" and I thought it was one of the most wonderful, haunting songs I had ever heard before. Still think that way. Unfortunately, they're hit and miss for me and it would take quite some time before I dig deeper.
By the way, I really liked Swell. Great rock record. I also got The Spires' latest record. Spread the word to the boys in Ventura, there are fans over here in the East and I will continue to spread their music as I have been. Beehouse records has been a Godsend.
Take care Prof.|||great tune and great choice most people would not know that song.
favorite song: I am A Rock
take care
dave|||I remember that tune from when I was growing up, i learned all about Simon and Garfunkel from my mothers records.. thin dusty orbs.. covers frayed from over use ,the distinctive scratch sounds and click pops that distinguish CDs from the warm almost Heroin like embrace of Vinyl.. its arms lovingly embracing me with sounds.. sounds that no longer seem to dazzle coming from cold impersonal CDS and MP3s.. i have grown up and lost.. i have become a man and have ended up lonesome.. somewhere a whipperwill sings a tune his wings too weary to fly..

The Dangling Conversation|||Oh I'm partial to Celia...
Though I am utterly confused about this post. Even though it sounds totally cool from what I've read. However it would seem you would be a perfect person to join in on my 10 songs blog over on mixpod... I'll send you the link.

I like a lot of S%26amp;G.
favorite? Tough Call. I'll go with "American Tune" from 'Concert in Central Park'.|||Hi Prof
I'm not a big fan of Simon and Garfunkel and I hadn't heard that song before. I thought it was ok though, it had a slightly psychedelic sound to my ears which I liked.
My favourite song of theirs is going to have to be one of their most famous songs, Mrs. Robinson.
