Hi Everybody.
Well, we're inside the top 20 on my Top 101 Mix Tape Rules countdown. "Mix tape rules" simply means that I limited myself to one song per band/artist.
Here are the recent selections:
28. Sammy - Encyclopedi-ite
27. the Velvet Underground - Who Loves the Sun
26. Apollo Sunshine - Ghost
25. the Smiths - Handsome Devil
24. John Lennon - Watching The Wheels
23. A.C. Newman - On The Table
22. The Roots - The Seed V. 2.0
21. Wilco - Theologians
20. Grandaddy - Chartsengrafs
19. the Folk Implosion - Natural One
18. the Decemberists - the Tain
17. Stevie Wonder - We Can Work It Out (Beatles Cover)
16. Tall Tales and the Silver Lining - Born Down By the Side
Well, for number 15 I went with a very cool, quick little number. I know that people will probably think this is kind of a lack-luster selection for a group like Belle and Sebastian (and on a different day I may have very well chose differently and still rated another track this high), but I think this song is just so good in its simplicity and how it comes in and gets you with a concept and ends. It's catchy and it leaves you, or me at least, wanting to just start it over. Kind of like an ice cream sandwich.
Belle and Sebastian - Simple Things

So, what did you think? What's your favorite Belle and Sebastian tune?
Thanks a lot everybody. I hope you're all having a really great week.|||Hey Prof! How are you doing today?
Yeah, gotta have some B%26amp;S in the list and in the top 20 as well. "Simple Things" is really a nice song. It seems to really test the vocal range of Stuart Murdoch especially the low end. The song reallly represents an audio definition of "twee pop" doesn't it. Two of my favorite songs are "Are You Feeling Sinister" and "Electronic Renaissance" for some reason.

Have a great day, Prof!|||I never got into Belle and Sebastian simply because I can't stand their vocals. Otherwise I always seem to like their instrumentals.|||nice pick dude, great group! my favorite song by them is 'Another Sunny Day'|||g'day Prof,

Mind you, that might just be the video.
Regards|||That was lovely. Total hook.
Okay... how about:
Got a favorite song that is like an ice cream sandwich?? :-)
or
Got a favorite song that makes you want to play it again as soon as you've heard it?
I have a couple of those... Cat Stevens, predominantly. His music is so beautiful, and some of his songs are just too short!
The wind~ (comes in at two seconds shorter than Simple Things)

dave|||Hey Prof, great little tune from the wonderful B%26amp;S. They amaze me and I agree with your description on the track.
My favorite song by them (at the moment, since it changes often) is "Funny Little Frog" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vkPb6knG鈥?/a> off of The Life Pursuit, one of the greatest albums I've ever heard. Simply amazing album.|||hey prof
another of those bands i've never really bothered with.
they've always struck me as being 'nice' - but unexciting.
i enjoyed that tune, though|||Hey Prof, nice choice. I think Boy With the Arab Strap is probably my favorite album from them. Haven't listened to them in quite a while though. I agree though, this song definitely leaves you wanting more.|||Hi Prof
It is catchy ! And beautiful sounding , yeah I like this one. This is going to my favorite relax-now songs lol|||Belle %26amp; Sebastian are one those bands that annoy me. (No offense) They tease me with wonderful melodies but refuse to give me time to enjoy them, this song is the perfect example... As soon as I get into it, it's over.
