How do i make my hamster happy?

I have 3 hamsters 1 female and 2 male. The female one seems happy and energetic everyday.But the male ones are lazy and never play with the toys and wheel i provide them with. I let them out for walks and play with them,i'm not sure if i'm overfeeding them or anything. I change their food once a day. I also give them carrots and cabbages.


Why are they like this?They are all of the same age(1 month old)but only the female one is energatic and happy. What do i do to make them happy?


Please help!!!|||If you are treating them all the same, and they don't appear to be sick, it's probably their personalities..


I don't know if it applies to hamsters, but it seems to me that male animals are a bit more laid back and lazy while female animals have to keep busy all the time..That seems to be true in *most* cats and rats (I can't think of any other animals like that at the moment) :D|||Get one more female and put her in the same cage as the males...|||like animal addict said its just theyre personality and males tend to be lazier anyway!|||Male animals are more laid back :)


My nans boy cat will prefer to snuggle up and sit on our laps, but the other 1 will want to play!


My sisters boy and girl boxers are the same, girl always active boy likes to sleep, and its time same in humans!





Change their food at night as they it will be fresher lol





Anyways they are up at night so they are probs active when your sleeping, Just put them in a ball allot and they will become more active, and when giving them treat make them healthy like a bit of apple or something!





You never no if your over feeding a hamster as they keep food in their bedding, change their bedding everyday cause the food can go moldy their and cause them to become ill!





Just exercise them and they will be more energetic,





Like chubby kids and skinny kids, Skinny kids active chubby kids on playstation!|||Some animals are like humans, they get bored. Try to make a toy that is very uncommon and they will like it. If not, try to determine what are they favorite treats. You can use that for them to perform and they will just learn that they need to be energetic to have a treat.|||male hamsters are more laidback than female hamsters.


you can buy a lot of toys, but the main things they're interested in are


the wheel, collecting bedding, and sleeping. Sure you can get them chew sticks and tubes, which they might use, but they like certain things more than others.





hamsters love going for walks and to go outside. if they go outside, remember to watch them closely and don't let them in direct sunlight.





good luck with your hamsters. :]|||Well make sure they only get veg once a week as they will get very fat! maybe they don't know how to use the wheel put them on there and see if that works!





They maybe in hibernation (cold) make sure that they have a bed with lots of bedding and as they wake up they will go back to normall.





And finaly try taking them out LOADS AND LOADS check for lumps illnesses and if u find anything take them to the vet!

(: It sounds like you're taking really good care of them.|||try giving them ripped up toilet paper or paper towel. it'll get them motivated for a little while making themselves nests. hamsters are more active at night. my males were especially more active at night than they were during the day.|||what type of hamster are the males and what are their fur patterns. (If not you probably should, esp. with dwarfs) They sell lids with holes at the pet store, and you can lead tubing out of it for them to explore. You can make them happy if you let them nap on your lap and watch the female play.|||Your males ARE happy -- they just never tend to show it.
