Hi Everybody.

Well, we're inside the top 20 on my Top 101 Mix Tape Rules countdown. "Mix tape rules" simply means that I limited myself to one song per band/artist.

Here are the recent selections:

25. the Smiths - Handsome Devil

24. John Lennon - Watching The Wheels

23. A.C. Newman - On The Table

22. The Roots - The Seed V. 2.0

21. Wilco - Theologians

20. Grandaddy - Chartsengrafs

19. the Folk Implosion - Natural One

18. the Decemberists - the Tain

17. Stevie Wonder - We Can Work It Out (Beatles Cover)

16. Tall Tales and the Silver Lining - Born Down By the Side

15. Belle and Sebastian - Simple Things

14. Dr. Dog - The Beach

For number 13 I went with my favorite Pixies tune. Not a ton to say here, just a great rock song. Love the gear change into the section at the end. Great tune.

The Pixies - Alec Eiffel

So what did you think? What's your favorite Pixies tune/album?

Thanks a lot everybody. I hope you're all having a great holiday weekend. For those of you, like me, who still had to work today. I hope it's going quick and easy.|||Come on Pilgrim is one of my favorite even tho its so short, i think its really raw and free

You picked a wonderful Pixies song off of my favorite album, Trompe le Monde. The vocals on this tune give the chills. It would absolutely be on my list too.

I'd like to say this is my favorite song too, but for the sake of diversity, I'll say "Debaser". Again though, TLM is my favorite album. I think it was their finest work, and the best possible way to go out, which is why the hints of a new album worry me.|||Hey Prof,

I absolutely love the Pixies. They'd definitely be in my top 5 bands of all time.

Great song, probably one of my favourites from Trompe Le Monde. I think the Pixies are the only band who would write a song about the guy who designed the Eiffel tower lol.

My favourite Pixies song would probably be Gouge Away and my favourite album would be Doolittle, one of my favourite albums ever!|||Hi prof,

Agreed, great tune. My favorite Pixies tune/album changes frequently (a tribute to their depth of greatness.) Come On Pilgrim, Doolittle and Surfer Rosa are all up there as favorite albums. Favorite songs: Gigantic, River Euphrates, Debaser, I Bleed, Monkey Gone to Heaven, Silver, Hey, Caribou, Levitate Me...all up there too.|||Pixies are amazing, as is this song. I've always really liked it, in particular.

My all time favorite has to be Hey. Great, classic pixies song...i've always really liked the guitar part. The runner up is Here comes your man.

As for album, i've gotta say Doolittle. I mean, its probaly one of the best of all time in my opinion. Not a bad song on it.|||Hey Prof !

Love that song and the video!

"Gigantic"

"Head On"

favorite song: I bleed

Favorite album: Surfer rosa|||Hey Prof, awesome choice! I love the Pixies, they are my overall favorite band. My favorite album is Come On Pilgrim. It's only real flaw is being too short. Favorite tune changes between I've Been Tired and Levitate Me.|||Favorite song : Where is my mind

Favorite album : Doolittle|||amazing song! Pixies are one of the greatest bands of all time!

songs: Brick is Red, I Bleed, and Gigantic

album: SUrfer Rosa|||Hi Prof,

Wow, to pick one song from the Pixies is a tough one. Your choice Alec Eiffel is truly a tight song that doesn't miss. I really love the voices of Frank Black and Kim Deal. The songs where they sing together are great. Her backup on "Space (I Believe In)" is phenomenal. Here's one where they sing together along with a nice guitar riff off Surfa Rosa. My fave album is probably Doolittle. I really like all their albums very much except maybe Bossanova a little less.

Bone Machine - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3r-xMt9J鈥?/a>|||Love The Pixies but "Alec Eiffel" was always one of their songs I liked the least. I think it might have something to do with a friend from high school that over played the song during long car rides. Anyway, maybe enough time has passed that I can finally enjoy it.

It would seem that Surfer Rosa is my favorite album since it gets played regularly around here. Favorite tune: so tough to commit...probably "Gigantic" but their cover of "Head On" follows close behind. I really don't think I would adore The Pixies as much as I do if Kim hadn't been in the band.
